3&4 Sep:
Ruth invites gardener and bee keeper Brian Bowring to tell us more about these vital pollinators, and how we can support them.
Wednesday was the 'official' first day of Spring and Wattle Day - September 1st.
We've been witnessing the emergence of Spring for some weeks now - with beautiful Wattles, many Orchids pushing their heads up, the blossoming of fruit trees and other lovely flowering trees like Magnolias.
Accompanying this lovely flowering is the full return of the Bees from their Wintry hibernation. Without the Bees pollinating plants there will be no veggies to eat!
Ruth promised to bring back renowned Seymour gardener and bee keeper Brian Bowring to tell us more about the significance of these vital pollinators, and how we can play our part in caring for them in our gardens to support and protect them.
Brian will also guide us as to what's needed in our gardens at this time to ensure we have a thriving Summer veggie crop, and Jessica Bateman will offer delicious culinary tips, plus much, much more....
Don't forget to download Brian's gardening guide on the Mitchell Shire website: Edible Planting Guide.
EarthChat on 103.9 Seymour FM on Friday at 10am, repeated on Saturday at 8am - also on podcast.
Listen up and get fired up.
