Friday 23 April 10am and Saturday 24 April 8am:
Join Ruth and our special guest Peter Mitchell who will lead us on a wondrous magical mystery tour of Mitchell Shire's (sometimes hidden) natural wonders. Peter will lead us on an exploration of the many nature reserves that beckon us to come picnic and wander, or just peacefully sit, look, and listen to their unfolding beauty.
You may have picked up the Natural Treasures leaflet from last weekend's Seymour Expo, but if not there are plenty at all the shire's libraries and Information centres. And if you don't have a leaflet maybe dig out a map of the shire, or just close your eyes and visualise the region as Peter leads us down its many natural paths. You won't be able to resist exploring them yourself after his vivid descriptions of what awaits you there!
Peter Mitchell is BEAM's vice president and a long time member. He has a PhD in zoology, and is our resident ecology expert. He was also a Landcare coordinator, and has had various roles advocating for the environment in government departments. Since retiring, Peter is involved with too many committees, environmental and activist groups to list, including the Broadford Land Managament Group, the Seymour Revitalisation Community Working Group and the Biolinks Alliance.
Join Ruth Yeatman and Peter Lockyer, and our guest Peter Mitchell
EarthChat on 103.9 Seymour FM on Friday at 10am, repeated on Saturday at 8am
